To sustain our American business model we have to strengthen our Mass Transit system nationwide.
A national program is required because people want to ultimately have one seamless and excellent standard much like our air travel is today in America. Coordinating it at the Federal Level for a program of this magnitude is warranted.
Why should we do this?
For much of the 20th Century our Manufacturing Base had auto manufacturing as a linchpin. As countries became industrialized they produced new vehicles competing against our brands.
So, when American car manufacturers began losing market share they requested less from secondary suppliers. Consequently, as the other OEMs sold more vehicles in America and our brands sold less the US government collected less tax revenue. The net result is our manufacturing base shrunk each year and our government is turning to new sources of revenue.
Some Democrat Legislators advocate raising taxes.
What are you going to do at the Federal Level with these taxes? Fulfill a State’s responsibility such as Highway Patrol enforcement.
I recommend we seek new revenue streams by offering Mass Transit to all our major airports. It will generate a demand in the marketplace that is in our long term interest.
There are short term gimmicks like the “Cash For Clunkers” program. However, ten years from now will you want to remember that you traded in a used vehicle or that America began a Renaissance?
Taking this Pro-Active approach will provide us with an Infrastructure to match America’s Beauty. With Mass Transit in place People around the world will desire to see us. We will gladly offer everyone a fare and send the proceeds to our US Treasury.
Leadership Effects Everyone’s Livelihood and has an impact on our Economy & Environment.
